A blend of Barley, Chickpeas & Rice are the main ingredient of Talbina. The grains are roasted, milled and crushed to produce a ready-to-eat food we named Talbina. The name is taken from a barley based Arab cuisine which was favored by Rasulullah sallalahu alaihi wa sallam.
Talbina can be eaten by mixing with milk, yogurt, water or fruit juice. But it is prescribed to boil and then mixed with milk, yogurt fruit juice. It can also be eaten in a spicy manner by adding meat.

Saatto: Add water/milk, sugar/goor/honey according to taste. Steer and eat. Fruit pulp e.g. mango, banana can be added. At Talbina: 1 cup Talbina, 5 cup water. Boiled and reduced to three-quarters. Add milk or yogurt.
Yemeni Soup: 1 cup Talbina, ½ cup dried lentils, 6 cups of water, 3 small diced onions, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1 tsp. tumeric, ½ tsp. ground black pepper, 1 cup cooked chickpeas, ½ cup small diced cooked beef. Fry onions in hot olive oil until golden. Combine in a saucepan with all the other ingredients except for the chickpeas and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 1 – 1½ hours stirring occasionally. Add chickpeas and meat near the end of cooking time.
